Skilled Migration Points Score Increase to 65

We have been informed by the Department of Home Affairs of an increase of the minimum points score from the current 60 points to the new score of 65 points. This change will commence on the 1 July 2018 and will affect all invitations received on or after that date. All invitations received before that date will still be assessed under the previous points score requirements.
Here is a link to the legislative announcement and because it is a publication directly from the government resources, the wording may be somewhat difficult to understand. You may focus on Section 5-7 and this new change affects mainly visa holders in the Subclass 189, 190 and 489 category, however there are some other visa subclasses affected.
The advice above is to be taken as general in nature and advice specific to your situation should be done in consultation with a registered migration agent.
